Both company du & Etisalat UAE can now block advertisements through SMS
Promotional or advertising messages can be very irritating. Every day your cellphone got many promotional offer from your telecom service provider or the spa you visited last month or the store you have taken.
When you share your number with a store after purchase, you are automatically added to their SMS list and you will be notified of their latest offers.
And most of the times these messages are useless and serve you.
Have you always wanted to block a message and don't know how? The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE has launched a service to block such messages from your mobile through your simple message.
A statement issued by TRA said that advertising through Short Message Service (SMS) in collaboration with licensed telecom operators, as part of their efforts to improve telecommunications services and limit mobile phone advertising messages. An initiative has been launched to block - Etisalat and Du.
If you want to block unwanted messages then need to send SMS to 7726 with the message "Ball" and the operator will stop all advertisements starting with SMS-ES.
